【미국=뉴스제이】 에쉴리 나 통신원 = 조 바이든(Joe Biden) 미국 대통령은 30일 한국 서울의 할로윈 행사 관련 이태원 참사에 대해 “서울에서 사랑하는 사람들을 잃은 가족들에게 깊은 애도를 표한다”고 밝혔다.
바이든 대통령은 이날 성명에서 "질과 나는 서울에서 사랑하는 사람을 잃은 가족들에게 깊은 위로를 보낸다"면서 "우리는 한국인들과 함께 슬퍼하고 부상자들이 조속히 쾌유하기를 기원한다"고 말했다.
이어 "우리 두 나라의 동맹은 어느 때보다 활기차고 활력이 넘치며 양국 국민 간 유대는 어느 때보다도 강력하다"며 "미국은 이 비극적인 시기에 대한민국과 함께 할 것"이라고 덧붙였다.
